The first version of the program was released in November 1996 and it was one of the first Internet wide instant messaging services. The name ICQ is an initialism on the phrase “I seek you”.

PuTTY is a terminal emulator application which can act as a client for the SSH, Telnet, rlogin, and raw TCP computing protocols. The name “PuTTY” has no definitive meaning.[1]
PuTTY was originally written for Microsoft Windows, but it has been ported to various other operating systems. Official ports are available for some Unix-like platforms, with work-in-progress ports to Classic Mac OS and Mac OS X, and unofficial ports have been contributed to platforms such as Symbian powered mobile phones.
PuTTY was written and maintained primarily by Simon Tatham and is currently beta software. Licensed under the MIT License, PuTTY is free and open source software.

Spybot - Search & Destroy (often Spybot-S&D) is a popular malware, spyware and adware removal program which works on Microsoft Windows 95 and later. Like most malware scanners, Spybot-S&D scans the computer hard disk and/or RAM for malicious software.
Spybot was written by the German software engineer Patrick Michael Kolla, and is distributed by Kolla’s Irish company Safer Networking Limited. Development began in 2000 when Kolla, still a student, wrote a small program to deal with the Aureate/Radiate and Conducent TimeSink programs, two of the earliest examples of adware.

FileZilla Client is a free, open source, cross-platform FTP client. Binaries are available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. It supports FTP, SFTP, and FTPS (FTP over SSL/TLS). As of August 10, 2007, it was the 12th most popular download of all time from SourceForge.net [1].
FileZilla Server is another product. It is an FTP server supported by the same project. It supports FTP and FTP over SSL/TLS.
FileZilla’s source code and downloads are hosted on SourceForge. SourceForge featured FileZilla as the Project of the Month in November 2003.
